With depths reaching up to 750 meters, these <strong>breathtaking gorges<\/strong> stand as the <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oasis-verdon.com\/en\/culture-visits-verdon\/grand-canyon-du-verdon\/\" data-type=\"verdon\" data-id=\"941\">largest canyon in Europe<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p><p  style=\"text-align: right;\" id=\"850\" >To explore magical landscapes and get a real adrenaline rush, what could be better than an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oasis-verdon.com\/en\/activities-sports-verdon\/rock-climbing-gorges-du-verdon\/\" data-type=\"activites\" data-id=\"850\">exceptional hike<\/a>? <strong>The Chemin de l\u2019Imbut trail<\/strong>, winding through steep cliffs, boulders, and the Verdon riverbed, is one of <strong>the<\/strong> area\u2019s <strong>must-do challenging hikes<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"group sec-25\"><h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Ready for a hike<span class=\"fc-span\"> on the Imbut Trail?<\/span><\/h2><p class=\"center\" style=\"text-align: center;\"  >Here are a few <strong>landmarks<\/strong> and some <strong>unforgettable <\/strong> <strong>points of interest<\/strong> <strong>along the <\/strong>route.<\/p><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"columns__item\"><ul><li><strong>Start<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oasis-verdon.com\/en\/discovering-the-region\/aiguines-tourism\/\" data-type=\"villages\" data-id=\"1034\">in Aiguines<\/a><\/strong>. Take the steep trail along the <strong>Falaise des Cavaliers<\/strong>, which winds down to a <strong>small flight of steps<\/strong> clinging to the cliff face. \n<\/li><li><strong>The Estelli\u00e9 footbridge<\/strong> over the Verdon comes into view after about a 30-minute walk. Do not take it, as it connects to the <strong>Sentier Blanc Martel<\/strong>. Continue along the left bank.  \n<\/li><li>After a beautiful descent, you\u2019ll be treated to the spectacular sight of <strong>the pools carved <\/strong>by erosion into the limestone rock. Swimming in these pure, turquoise waters is prohibited because it is dangerous. \n<\/li><li>The trail then rises to more than 50 meters above the Verdon River, whose waters alternate between swift and calm. It runs alongside the <strong>large<\/strong> <strong>ledges<\/strong> that emerge from the steep cliffs. \n<\/li><li>The view from the ledge where <strong>the thousand-year-old juniper tree<\/strong>\u2014a fragrant cade hidden in a small cave\u2014stands is absolutely stunning. Below lies the <strong>Baouch\u00e9 pebble beach<\/strong>. \n<\/li><\/ul><\/div><div class=\"columns__item\"><ul><li><strong>The Styx<\/strong>, a<strong> side canyon, offers <\/strong> <strong>spectacular<\/strong> <strong>scenery<\/strong>. Follow the trail to the rocky ridge that overlooks the river from a height of nearly 5 meters. \n<\/li><li><strong>Passage du<\/strong> <strong>Maugu\u00e9<\/strong>, a small, unusual cave that marks the start of a steep path.\n<\/li><li><strong>The boulder chaos of the Imbut<\/strong>. This cluster of boulders to climb is followed by an <strong>impressive natural tunnel<\/strong>. \n<\/li><li>You can continue on to <strong>Baou B\u00e9ni<\/strong>, the gateway to the <strong>Verdon Secret<\/strong>\u2014a wild paradise where crystal-clear waters set off the dizzying cliffs. \n<\/li><li>To wrap up the hike, continue to the intersection of <strong>the Sentier Vidal<\/strong>, nestled among the boxwoods and oaks. You can return the same way or take the impressive climb up the cliff face. \n<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"columns__item\"><h2><span class=\"fc-span\">Practical<\/span> Information<\/h2><p    >Although the trail is <strong>marked<\/strong> and <strong>secured<\/strong>, it is still a <strong>dangerous <\/strong> <strong>mountain trail<\/strong> <strong>along <\/strong>the <strong>GR\u00ae99<\/strong>. <strong>Extreme caution<\/strong> is advised, and certain <strong>precautions<\/strong> should be taken: <\/p><ul><li>Choose the right shoes (hiking or trail running) and stay alert with every step.\n<\/li><li>Bring at least one liter of water per person (two in the summer).\n<\/li><li>Don&#8217;t go out alone, especially if you&#8217;re not in shape.\n<\/li><li>Plan your trip for spring or fall, and avoid rainy days.\n<\/li><\/ul><p    >The distance is approximately <strong>11 kilometers, and <\/strong>the total duration is estimated at <strong>5 or 6 hours<\/strong>. However, the difficulty stems mainly from <strong>the significant elevation changes<\/strong> (up to 930 meters of ascent and descent).
