Trans-en-Provence: discover the Himalayan footbridge at the waterfalls

Crossing the Himalayan footbridge while discovering the village of Trans-en-Provence is a truly extraordinary experience. Spanning the Nartuby gorges, the footbridge offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the village and the river’s waterfalls. Thrills and vertigo are guaranteed!

The Himalayan Footbridge at the Trans Waterfalls

Measuring 70 metres long, this all-metal structure lets you cross 30 metres above the Nartuby River along a fully secured route. It’s an experience that delivers intense emotions for everyone. This attraction is the highlight of the Trans waterfalls, the Boucle du Calant trail. The route follows a riverside pedestrian path all the way to the Pont de la Motte, then continues through the village’s streets and narrow lanes.

The Nartuby and its banks have long shaped the village of Trans-en-Provence. However, the gorges were neither accessible nor developed. The only viewpoint was from the Pont Vieux, located in the centre of the town. This new attraction has therefore made it possible to create a visitor-friendly trail laid out along the river.

In fact, several activities are available, for all tastes and ages. Visitors will inevitably fall in love with the spectacular natural scenery and the village’s historic monuments. This impressive structure has already sparked the curiosity of many locals. From the exploits of Saint Roch, old olive oil mills, silk factories and a hydroelectric power plant to churches and chapels, visitors will have the chance to explore an exceptional heritage. Sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike can enjoy, with family or friends, a fun 1.5 km walk.

Practical information

Access to this attraction is free and does not require an appointment. It is open all year round, every day, for visitors. At dawn or at dusk, you can go whenever you like. The only requirement is that this footbridge is for pedestrians only. Its load capacity does not exceed 240 kg per m².
